About Me

I am Nirupama Jayaraman, a qualitative researcher with over 10 years of research experience across academia, policy, and development consulting.

I specialize in ethnographic methods, stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and data visualization. My expertise spans transportation, workplace collaboration, and emerging technologies, and I am particularly interested in how digital tools shape social interactions and mobility.

I’ve conducted extensive fieldwork in South Asia, exploring how gender and infrastructure shape everyday mobility. Previously, I contributed to policy research at Brookings India, Okapi Research Advisory, and Urban Design Collective, and co-founded Connect-Human, a product aimed at improving workplace communication.

Currently, I’m excited about opportunities that allow me to apply my research, strategy, and design thinking skills to real-world problems, ensuring that products and services are inclusive, impactful, and intuitive.

In my free time I enjoy painting with acrylics, listening to podcasts (I recommend 99% Invisible and Spacepod), and taking on complicated cooking projects. I’m also a singer and violinist trained in the Carnatic tradition.
